Camino de Santiago ~May 9, 2017

I remember when I first learned about the Pyrenees Mountains. It was in Miss Went’s French class when I was in high school.  Who knew that one day I would walk over them. Today we pilgrims followed the path of pilgrims who came over 1,000 years before us. We took the route that goes directly over the mountains, the way that Napolean lead the armies and yhe way of Charlemagnes. We walked 27 kilometers and went from 95 meters high to 1,400 meters. We are in a pilgrim hostel that sleeps 240 people. The wi fi is not strong, so the wonderful pictures will have to wait. For today I give a huge shout out to those who helped me train on the AT: Teresa, Tammy, Barb and Leesa. Thank you for your role in today’s walk. Now rest is needed, tomorrow I will share some of the wonderful pilgrim stories from along the way.
